The presentation will discuss the realization of an air/vapour barrier in everyday life as well as review the importance of their use in varying types of systems over complex interior environments. The importance will later be reviewed with the audience through a series of case studies where the Air/vapour barrier (or lack of) had a significant impact in the performance of the Building Envelope.

Guillaume Vadeboncoeur is a Professional Engineer with over 14 years of experience in building science. Guillaume has a mechanical engineering degree with a major in material properties. Guillaume is a project manager and a project engineer that has managed several building science projects that include building envelope remediation’s, building envelope condition assessments and wall monitoring. His expertise lies with knowledge of curtain walls, building science theories and ways to incorporate new technologies in construction. Guillaume has been a member of EGBC since 2004 and obtained his certificate of registration in April 2009. Guillaume is the past president of the RCI (Roofing Consultants Institute) Western Canada Chapter and is also a recognized expert in the building science field by the BC Supreme Court.

 Sandman Hotel Parking:  Enter off Cambie Street, pass the Sandman Hotel Breezeway, underground parking to the left, press buzzer to access parkade and take elevator to restaurant level.  Cost is $1.25 per 15 minutes.   Easy Park:  Across the street on the corner of Georgia and Cambie Streets.  Cost is $1.50 per 30 minutes.
